Does anyone know of somewhere I can download the font (or even a really similar one) for less than the school fonts website which is $30, it seems a lot to make a couple of worksheets and flashcards.Or alternatively, a website that will allow you to make custom writing worksheets.I just want to make things to go with DD's sight words without spending a fortune as there are hundreds more of these to come.We are feeling a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of memorising at the moment and I am thinking breaking it all up a bit will make it a bit more manageable for both of us. Dd got 12 sightwords at a time, can you ask if she can do less each lot perhaps if she's struggling with them.This is our first set.

That seems a lot.For the shorter words, I found connect 4 helped. I put round stickers on the tokens and wrote the words on. Then, you pick a token and read it before playing it.
If you can't you pick another and try again. Always make sure she knows at least some of them before doing it, otherwise it's discouraging. Vic cursive is free. I ended up just using a standard font for ours (Actually one teacher was nice enough to send me the powerpoint they use in class and I just printed off the slides 9 per a sheet and laminated them, marking each set of 20 with something different on the back. I will mention we have 300 between my two kids). We do lots of memory/bingo/go fish games with sight words.(My school has their 'own' sight words.
